Under normal circumstances, “Crackdown” and “miniseries” are two words that don’t seem like a natural fit. Do you remember the story of the first game? It was a glorifiedMega Mantale. I guess Ruffian Games and Microsoft want to change this perception forCrackdown 2. The first episode of a five-part series debuted today, and it’s worth a watch. I say that primarily because of the smooth-talking narrator, who fans of the original game will recognize....

According to the devs anger means that you’ll be kicking a lot of butt on this level of hell, really just ripping loose. Thus the above video is all about the combat system and how it’s really fluid and cool.Unlike previous levels of hell, this one isn’t standing out quite as much too me....

Bethesda and Dark Horse Comics have announced that theRageuniverse will be explored with a comic book this coming June. The three comic mini-series will be written by Arvid Nelsion ofRex Mundifame, with art by Andrew Mutti. If the cover — seen in the gallery and above — has a familiar style, maybe it’s because you’re aPreacherfan. It was drawn by Glenn Fabry, best known for his work on the covers for Garth Ennis’ series in the late 90s....

This info comes way of an officialDevil May Cry 4Web site, which is said to have dated the demo (for both Xbox 360 and PS3) for the end of the month. Poking around the site, however, only shows that the demo is “coming soon.” Skeptics we are, we’d be inclined to call nonsense on this but onAXIS was slippery enough to snag the above screen capture … we are believers....

True hardcore devotees of theCivilizationfranchise are like long-time heroin addicts. They’ve got a need for a specific kind of fix, and they will do whatever it takes to get it. They also accept no substitutes; whenCivilization Revolutionreleased two years ago, the faithful treated it with the disdain that a heroin junkie does a methadone clinic. I never understood that reaction. It’s hard to believe — the demo played at Sony’s E3 press conference and free to play on the floor looks more than incredible. It’s not an understatement to come out and say that it may be one of the best-looking third-person action games ever, if not the best-looking game on the PlayStation 3....

Sorry. I’m getting a little overboard with my title, but to be honest, I’m having a hard time trying to retain a professional demeanor after playingMetroid Prime Corruption– it’s just that good. The controls forCorruptionare so responsive, so correct, and so intuitive, that I’ve finally been convinced that the Wii is the new home for first person adventures. I know that those are some bold words (and that games likeRed Steelhave left a pretty bad taste in player’s mouths), but if you playCorruptionfor just ten minutes, you’ll become a believer too....

YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS! I love theSly Cooperseries, and the next game in the previously-only PlayStation 2 series was just announced for the PlayStation 3. Not much is known about the title except that it is calledSly Cooper: Thieves in Timeand will most likely involve thieves … in time. The trailer shown during the Sony conference looked great, containing the same cell-shaded style and wacky humor the series is known for.

Yesterday we talked aboutFOX News’ latest dicktittery, whereBulletstormwas basically accused of rape and made to sound like the infernal reincarnation of Genghis Khan. Electronic Arts has come out in support of People Can Fly’s shooter, taking the right-wing news outlet to task. “As you know,Bulletstormis a work of entertainment fiction that takes place in the 26th century on the abandoned fictitious paradise planet Stygia, where our heroes fight mutants, monsters, flesh-eating plants and gigantic dinosaurs,” said the company....

The whole EA/Take-Two almost became a joke (and awaste of ink) it got so drawn out. EA would try to buy Take-Two, Take-Two would reject them, EA would come back, Take-Two would reject them again. It finally all settled with EA giving up hope and Take-Two not being bought. It got a little tiring, really. Why are we bringing it up again?
