My retro heart has such a horrible time accepting the Mario and Sonic crew getting along the way they do in theseOlympiccrossover games. They can’t be getting along! They should be beating the crap out of each other! Bowser skiing with Mario? Blasphemy! Of course, this game doesn’t appeal to the likes of me and looking at the game from a neutral standpoint, it does look kind of fun. The first one sold really well and there’s no doubt that this one will sell pretty good too....

For me, it wasn’t the news of a PS3 Slim or the long-awaited price cuts that made Sony’s Gamescom presentation memorable. It was the exciting announcement of PSP Minis. These are small, downloadable games intended to rival the iPhone’s Apps. They have a size limit of 100MB and there’ll be fifteen of them at launch. Sony has released a large bunch of screenshots showing off some of these titles, which include traditional games like Tetris and even a few iPhone titles like Hero of Sparta and MiniGore....

It seems there is an uproar across the Internets about thisGears of Warend credits video. It’s like people are offended or can’t seem to grasp that, just maybe, this is to be taken lightly. God forbid the people at Epic have a little fun with the Cole train. Our take: We love it and want some more of it. Now excuse us while we take it to the house. Yeah! Bring it on sucka!...

What? YES! It took three games, butGears of War 3willfinallybring much-needed dedicated servers to the franchise, something that should help put paid to a multitude of online issues that have plagued this series since inception. “In addition to a swath of online code improvements, we’re bringing dedicated servers toGears of War 3to drive a balanced, optimized, and thrilling online experience for Gearheads everywhere,” says theEpic/OXMpromotional page. This isfantasticnews. I’ve always been a fan of Gears of War, but I’ve never been able to play each game online for more than a couple weeks before I got thoroughly sick of hosting issues and all the other online bullshit....

Like a sick person whowatches his heart transplant enter the gaping maw of a mutt, I’m unsure of how to react tothe Xbox 360Divinity II: Eco Draconisdemo. Should I feel displeased, shocked, angered, or doomed? Or should I just wait until the full retail game hits the shelves? I’ll wait and reserve judgment. But I do have some simple observations about the demo swirling around in my brain. Of course, I’ll know for sure when the full game hits this January....

Xbox 360 fanboys may want to look away now, because this is not pretty. A girl who is either crazy, bad at acting, or both, smashes her boyfriend’s Xbox 360 to pieces because he spends ten hours a day on it and ignores her. Apparently this is a lesson to all us “gaming addicts.” You have been warned. Fake or not, it’s worth watching just for how stupid it is. She also swings a golf club like an infant....

F*ck. Just last week when we heard aboutYakuza 4being in development, I thought for sure that Sega USA would feel the heat and begin the localization process for PS3 gameYakuza 3. But no, that’s not happening — it’s not coming out here. Sega’s marketing man Ray Almeda says thatYakuza 3is not coming out in the United States. It seems that they’re convinced that the game won’t sell here, saysExaminer. Seeing as howYakuza 2only sold about 40,000 copies here in the US, I can kind of see where they’re coming from....

Last week, I did something I’ve been wanting to do for a while: I playedDuke Nukem Forever. I’ve been looking forward toDuke Nukem Foreversince I was twelve, and for a number of reasons, it’s taken a whole twelve years to make it.Duke Nukem Forevercould’ve been one of the most anticipated games of all time, but I think a lot of peoples’ excitement has turned to sour grapes from so much waiting....

For PlayStation 3 sandbox gangsta fans, some good news just sorta kinda came your way today:Saints Rowis coming to the PS3. Truth be told, my experience withTorchlightand the knowledge thatTorchlight IIhas co-op is enough. But, not everyone is so easily sold on the sequel. 07 Commander— this game looks awfully familiar to me. The level design, the enemy design, the speed at which the enemy attacks.
