Call your mother Today is Father’s Day, and many videogame characters out there are likely celebrating their fathers and father figures. The Koopa Kids and Bowser Jr. have Bowser, Jade has Pey’j, and Mega Man has Dr. Light. Fathers are important things to have in one’s life, as reflected by the sheer amount of them created by developers to work alongside their protagonist sons and daughters. While the others are out giving gifts and spending quality time with their dads, Ness, star of the popular second entry of theMotherseries, is more likely to sit by the phone all day with his sister and mother....

To celebrate Pac-Man’s 30th anniversary, Namco Bandai teamed up with Japanese sweets company Meiji to make some sweets that will be branded with the little yellow puck himself. A variety of milks, coffee and puddings will feature Pac-Man and his ghost buddies on the packaging. I love how Pac-Man is going after the food he’s promoting on each packaging. Akihabara Newssays that each package will come with a QR code to access one dedicated Pac-Man character to keep on your mobile phone....

I’m the kind of guy who would spend half a grand just to save fifty bucks, so throw a game with a $5 price tag my way, and I’ll surely bite. While Namco Bandai has been quick to offer level ups and other nonsensical bits of DLC to try and monetize a single-player linear RPG, Square Enix has stated thatthere are no plansto do the same withFinal Fantasy XIII. Speaking to Japanese magazineDengeki PlayStation, Square confirms that the game’s “Story” and “Scenario” are complete, while the graphics are 80% completed. Apparently, all released footage up until now have been from earlier builds of the game, with the game having moved on quite considerably since then....

Codemaster’s OperationFlashpoint: Dragon Risinghas a new release date.
