Is it too early to be talking about downloadable content forCall of Duty: World at War? Perhaps, but Daniel Suarez, the executive producer for the game, has dropped a few hints about what’s in store for us anyway. Speakingwith MTV Multiplayer, Suarez divulged that Treyarch is aiming for “two, maybe three [DLC] packs” and how the content is “not going to be what we’ve done traditionally.” The full DLC announcements will be made early on next year, so for the time being, there’s not much to go on besides wishful thinking and the knowledge that it’s coming … eventually....

The“PSN hacking” controversyis done and dusted for now, but Capcom believes consumers aren’t so ready to forgive and forget just yet. According to the publisher, there’s still a level of wariness when it comes to trusting Sony with personal information again. “We have seen on PSN, and probably Sony are in a better place to tell you this, that there is a resurgence in people buying the generic PSN cards in retail stores rather than putting up their credit card details,” said Capcom Europe head David Reeves....

Konami has revealed “Reverie,” the first downloadable add-on forCastlevania: Lords of Shadow, is out March 30. ThedelayedDLC is the first of two planned add-on packs, and will include three stages. Konami is also promising a “breathtaking” narrative twist which will set up players for the next content pack, “Ressurrection.” The content will cost 800 MS Points on Xbox 360, or $9.99 for the PlayStation 3. You still have yourLords of Shadowdisc, right?...

Congrats to CAVE for being recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as “the most prolific developer of danmaku shooters.” They’ve made 48 bullet hell shooters in 16 years. They’ll be featured in the 2011 Gamer’s edition of Guinness. Yasunori Mitsuda is the man credited to the epic musical score ofChrono Trigger, which was actually his first big gig. No one will argue that he knocked that one out of the park. He then followed with bigger and even more epic scores, including ones forChrono Cross, Xenogearsand theXenosagagames. Now he’s a legend in game music, and he owes it all to his 16-bit stylings inChrono Trigger. The catalogue of retro games available on the Virtual Console continues to grow as Epyx announced that Commodore 64 games will be playable on Nintendo’s new console. The first Commodore 64 games available on the Wii will be : –Impossible Mission 1 & 2;-Winter Games;-Summer Games 1 & 2;-Pitstop;-Jumpman Junior. Crytek and Crytek Seoul are using the holiday downtime to announce a brand new first-person shooter calledWarface. The military shooter being targeted at Asian markets, more specifically the South Korean demographic. The shooter is set in the near future and will offer a “cinematic experience” all on the CryENGINE 3. Warfacewill have a constantly updated extensive PVE universe featuring “dramatic multiplayer co-op missions” and feature PVP combat. So there you go....
