Indie Nation: Curse

Every week, Destructoid highlights interesting, innovative, or just plain odd independent games for its “Indie Nation” series. After three weeks ofheady,combat-freefirst-personshootermodifications, what say we detox with aHalf-Life 2mod primarily about smacking mummies in the skull with a mace? Curse— or at least, thefirst episodeofCurse— is a free mod that alternates between intense, mouse gesture-based action and environmental puzzle solving. It’s surprisingly polished, and has enough new mechanics so that, apart from the physics and enemy animations, I wouldn’t have realized it was aHalf-Life 2mod if no one had told me....

I’ve played none of this year’s top 20 Xbox Live games

These were the top 20 Xbox Live games of 2010. I’ve played none of them. Someone asked me a few weeks ago why my last log in time on Xbox Live was a million years ago. This is why. Nothing is wrong with the system or the games, but none of the top offerings for the system really speak to my gaming preferences. I like the nerdy sh*t. These games are too cool for me....
