Last week, Ben PerLee and I attended the Konami Gamer’s Night in San Francisco. Upon leaving the event, Konami handed us a very unique piece of swag. Konami was giving out vials of “blood” with information on it showing members of the press where they can get all the assets for the Konami and Hudson games you saw posted throughout the day today. Last night while putting some finishing touches on my previews for today, I was playing around with the vial of blood when I happened to notice two things....

Nintendo seems really excited about this:The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Swordis going to be playable at this week’s Comic-Con in San Diego. Is that a big deal or something? Does anyone care about this game? Never heard of it. Skyward Swordwill be a part of the Nintendo Gaming Lounge, which can be located at the Marriott Marquis & Marina at 333 West Harbor Drive. Note: that’s not in the San Diego Convention Center, but right next to it....

According to another information leak from the trusty ESRB,it appearsthe jiggly arcade puzzle gameMagical Drop IIIis on its way to the Wii. It comes as part of a compilation of classic Data East arcade games, imaginatively titledData East Arcade Collection. GameStop has alisting upfor aMarvel vs. Capcom 2 Retail Pack. It’s going to go for $19.99, $5 more than what the downloadable title will sell for. It looks like it’s only going to be available for the PlayStation 3 and theRetail Packis set to include: The GameStop listing has the game dated for August 13, which may or may not be correct. Last we heard, the game was supposed to be coming outon June 29, which still may be the case....

Fronz is a very busy man. He works for many a website, writes many an article, and makes me do many a favor for him while he’s in Vegas playing with toys. Splinter Cell Convictiongenerated a ton of positive buzz at E3 2009. The demonstration for the game proved that Ubisoft was capable of turning the stealth genre on its head and making it far less aggravating by equipping players with the tools and abilities to truly navigate a hostile environment. This week finally sees the release of the long-awaited WiiWare title,Zombie Panic in Wonderland. The $10 title looks like it packs quite a bit into the small package — seven playable characters, hidden levels, and… zombies. In Wonderland, obviously. The rest of the selections pale in comparison to zombies invading a wonderland, with a kung-fu WiiWare title (that’s NOT a reboot ofKung Fu Master, which should happen), a balloon popping game for the DSi, and some other stuff that we’ll all probably forget about by lunch time....
