Nintendo has announced a release date for their updated version of the Wii Remote controller with integrated MotionPlus. The product we all expected to have when the Wii launched back in 2006 will be hitting store shelves on November 11th in Japan. We don’t know yet if that date indicates a global launch or if Japan is the only place you’ll be able to get your hands on the controller for a while after release....
Just when you thought you’ve seen it all, along comes a Wii game where you play catch. No, actually, judging from this video, Sega/Prope’sLet’s Catchlooks like fun. At first, the video (above) starts out slow. I almost wanted to cry with the pretty acoustic guitar music and the boredom. But then they’re playing catch on the moon? With an alien? The minigames look like fun, too. You can use your Miis, but they look crappy compared to their built-in counterparts....

This whole industry is a sausage-fest. I have the highest respect for the ladies that stick with it, because they’re very few in number. I had a chat with a few of the brave soldiers on the press side of things during GDC. From what I’ve heard, it is not an easy life. It’s just as bad on the other side, where they make games. A Bradford, UK annual event called the Women In Games Conference has been called off due to low attendance....
For me, tracking games sales is just as fun as actually playing games — I can impress friends with “I told you so, this game kicks balls!” or, my favorite “I told you so, this game bites balls”! For those of you who share my passion, here’s some shocking news. Crysis, the absolutely stellar first-person shooter on the PC, didn’t break 100K units in the first two weeks of sales. Even more shocking,Unreal Tournament 3on PC sold less than 35K units in its first two weeks....
SouthPeak Games’ super-cute puzzle gameRoogoois now available on the PC for everyone that hasn’t already downloaded it on Xbox Live Arcade. Roogoo’s story revolves around collecting the different shaped meteors that regularly fall on the planet Roo before King Moo’s — previously King Goo — son, Prince Moo, can. The reason for this is because King Moo ate some of these meteors and used them to power large cities, thereby corrupting the native Roogoo by turning them into Meemoo....

Folks were excited enough when Atlus announced that it would be portingPersona 2: Innocent Sinover to the PlayStation Portable. After all,Innocent Sinitself never made it across the pond back when it first came out for the PSOne, so the mere thought that it would get a second crack at it was good news. Further, since Atlus USA also brought the remake ofPersona 1to English-speaking lands, the chances could be even better....
We rarely talk about PlayStation minis. Frankly, quite a lot of them look downright terrible, and I say that as someone who is — generally speaking — always looking for the positives, no matter how overwhelmingly apparent the more dreadful aspects are. Either I’m slipping, or Laughing Jackal’sStellar Attacklooks rather neat; either way, it’s an improvement overstuff like this.
