Shepard to be sexually assaulted by Subject Zero in ME2

A combination of lack of time and other games drawing me away has meant that my copy ofMass Effecthas laid dormant on my shelf since about the time the game launched, but considering the badassness ofMass Effect 2‘s new character Subject Zero, I’m considering putting all other games on hold and playing through it simply so I can catch up with the story and get to watch her kicking ass throughoutMass Effect 2....

Silent Hunter 5 announced, has epic trailer

Submarines scare the living hell out of me. I’m not overly claustrophobic, but the thought of being stuffed into a metal tube underwater, knowing that if anything goes wrong that I’m probably going to drown — probably in my top five least appealing ways to die — is just terrifying to me. That may be part of the reason why I find this new trailer for the just-announcedSilent Hunter 5to be so compelling....

SingStar Queen now available, as epic as you’d imagine

Having spent some time withSingStar Queenlast week, both Topher and I can attest to the fact that it’s about as epic as you’d expect. What the disc lacks in number of songs (there are only 25 on the PS3 version we played), it makes up for it in track quality. Even if you’re not the biggest of Queen fans, you’re likely to recognize most of the tracks, from anthems like “We Will Rock You” to “Killer Queen” (a track that only appears on the PS3 version of the game)....

Sony sells 85,000 PlayTV boxes in a week in UK

We’ve had our eyes on thisPS3 DVR attachment called PlayTV. Eyes only. Not our paws, though, as Sony has only released it in the UK. The little add-on units are selling like hotcakes. We’re hoping that the strong sales will have them considering a US version someday. PlayTV has sold 85,000 units in its first week of sale.Tech Radarsays that there was some worry that the device would be poorly received by gamers, but now I think it’s clear that PS3 owners want to record things off the telly....

Sony translator doesn’t give a crap about Gran Turismo PSP

I thought Sony’s showing at E3 was pretty strong this year. Theirpress conferencewas a delight for this gamer, as it featured new games and tech that I can look forward to in 2009 and on. There was one low point in their press conference, though. As a racing game fan, I was excited to see Polyphony Digital’s Kazunouri Yamauchi take the stage. It told me that a newGran Turismowould be announced, and I was right....

Square Enix chats bollocks about ‘casual’ games

The farcical “casual games” conversation hascome up once again, with RPG publisher Square Enix looking to fully exploit the market. Not put off by the fact that a large amount of its non-traditional RPG games are pretty crap, Squeenix is ready to provide games that “empower” newcomers to the medium. We take it to mean that “empowering” means “easy for drooling retards to cope with.” “There is a large audience for casual titles that is growing all the time, we see other viable routes to this audience,” explains President John Yamamoto....

Ten Minute Taste: Zeno Clash Ultimate Edition

ACE Team’s strange little first-person number,Zeno Clash Ultimate Edition, has hit Xbox LIVE Arcade today. It would probably be easier to explain the plot of David Lynch’sEraserheadthan to try to convey the narrative ofZeno Clash, so I won’t bother to do that here. Part of theZeno Clashexperience is exploring the game’s twisted world on your own, and meeting the game’s oddball cast of friends and foes for the first time....

Terry Bogard statue is neat, but its hat fails

Along with our retail review copies ofKing of Fighters XII(officially out tomorrow for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3), Ignition also sent over a Terry Bogard figure/statue, which arrived today. The polyresin figure sits on base made to look like stone, Terry Bogard’s signature cap a separate accessory that fits nicely in its hand. However, trying to put the hat on its head is a lost cause — it simply doesn’t fit properly....

(Here’s theoriginal trailer from E3, as well as somescreenshots.)
