Announced back inJuly, Final Fantasy Gaiden is a retro, DS-only take on the series with an absolutely adorable art style and simplified controls.Instead of being a remake of an older title, this is an all-new game inspired by those classics of days gone by, specifically the NES entries in the series. TGS 09: Hands on with Persona 3 PSP

Being the Persona-obsessed freak I am sitting here writing this post while I wear my brand spanking new Persona 4 shirt I got from the Cospa booth today, you know I made a mad dash forPersona 3 PSPthe moment I spotted it on the show floor. So it was entirely in Japanese and I couldn’t read the menus very well — SO WHAT. After all, I’ve played enough of the first game to have most of the interactions memorized anyway....

TGS: Holy crap … Vanquish has a story!

You could be forgiven for thinking (or even hoping) that Platinum Games’Vanquishis just an awesome, balls-mental shooter about a space marine sliding about on his knees, and that there’s no plot tying it all together. This new “story” trailer, however, sets that to rights. Apparently, the Russians have exploded San Francisco and want to do the same to New York. It’s up to our knee-rocketing hero, Sam Gideon, to put a stop to the red menace and save humanity from bald men who say “comrade” a lot....

TGS: Razer Arcade Stick prototype, inside and out

Razer is getting into the arcade stick game, and they have prototypes here at Tokyo Game Show to show off. I had a chance to poke at one and even pop it open today. It looks like a serious piece of kit already, but it’s not even close to being done yet. Product Marketing manager Hilmar Hahn told us that they have created this prototype arcade stick with feedback from the gaming community, but they want gamers to get their hands on it and give more feedback so that they can create the perfect stick....

The Last Story has a petition for a Western release

At the time of writing, 1331 signatures are on the list and I’m throwing this out there for Destructoid readers who’d like to contribute....

Unofficial Gears of War 3 trailer is officially awesome

What you’re seeing isn’t an official trailer for Epic’sGears of War 3, but you’d be hard pressed to tell. Created byThe Duo Group(in collaboration with a who slew of other folks), it’s set to Johnny Cash’s haunting cover of Nine Inch Nail’s “Hurt.” It follows in the footsteps of previous (and official)Gearspromotional clips — COG soldiers with their backs to a wall, facing unassailable odds against incoming Locust (and now Lambent) forces, and a depressing music bed....

Video of Zeno Clash XBLA brings the WTF

ATLUS has teamed up with developer ACE Team’sZeno Clashto Xbox LIVE Arcade asZeno Clash: Ultimate Edition. You should know this is a good thing — the once PC-only title mixed first-person brawling and a bizarre fantasy world that just needs to be experienced to be believed. This latest trailer shows the XBLA version of the game in action, showing off some of the game’s melee attacks. Basically, it’s one minute worth of bizarre bird creatures and other questionable humanoid things getting the sh*t kicked out of them....

Warriors: Legends of Troy final trailer and screens

Warriors: Legends of Troylaunches on March 8, and Tecmo Koei is celebrating the imminent release with a (surprisingly grainy) final trailer and a batch of screens. The video certainly looks epic and has lots ofMANLY SHOUTING, which is all I ask from a trailer. The game’s been in development for roughly three thousand years, and the amount of gameplay footage has been minimal to say the least. That does worry me, but when Iplayed it at E3, it showed a fair amount of promise....
