Watch the recording of echochrome II’s soundtrack

I may be alone in this, but watching a game soundtrack’s recording process is an absolute thrill for me. I was able to do that this morning as composer Hideki Sakamoto was kind enough to share some video of a string recording session for Sony’s upcoming sequel to the puzzle gameechochrome. There’s a livestream of the recording sessions forechochrome IIfor those interested. The above video is an embed, but Sakamoto has aUstream pagethat you’re able to check back with....

Watchdog attempts to humilitate Sony, fails hard

Earlier today we talked about how UK TV showWatchdogwasrunning a scathing featureon the alleged high failure rate of the PlayStation 3. In a bid to shame Sony, the show parked a branded van outside the company’s UK headquarters, offering free PS3 repairs to anybody suffering from a so-called “yellow light of death.” Yeah, thatfailed pretty hard. Watchdogfilmed eleven users getting their PS3 repaired by a crack team. It was later revealed that the “experts” had ended their good deed with four of the PS3s completely inoperable....

Why does Sonic the Hedgehog drive a car?

A while ago you may remember meposting a videoproduced by an old friend of mine back in England. Well, today Louie Falls is back with another ridiculous videogame-related feature, with a special appearance from my very own brother. The video is incredibly silly and a little bit vulgar, but it made me laugh quite a bit so it might make you laugh too. Check it out if you like!

Here’s what theFinal Fantasy XIIIXbox 360 faceplate looks like. Created by Square Enix designer Tetsuya Nomura, these plates are super limited in number. ‘Zombie Island’ DLC for Borderlands on PC is finally out

Console owners have been playing around with “The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned” for a while now, but theBorderlandsadd-on is only now finalized and up for the taking on PC. Owners of the retail version need togo here, while those with the Steam release must headthis way. While depending on your level — especially when dealing with a cooperative situation — this DLC can be a bit of a bummer and require you to do a new character so that you aren’t too powerful or weak against enemies, I’d still recommend it....

Aliens vs. Predator multiplayer trailer is pretty amazing

People have been playingAliens vs. Predator. People who are not me. This is clearly notright, but whatisright is the fact that it looks bloody fabulous. This brand new trailer shows off the multiplayer aspect of the game, and briefly details a mode where eight marines get to hunt down a single Predator. I’m simply stunned by the graphics hanging off this thing. The original screens looked like bullshots more than anything else, but the actual video footage seems to show no quality difference whatsoever....

All aboard the Halo rapetrain: MS survey reveals ‘unique’ ideas

Customer surveys are just that — they are not confirmation of games in production, a window into the future or any indication that the ideas presented are little more than the results of 2 AM brainstorm sessions. Kotakuhas uncovered a marketing survey that is intended to gauge interest in a variety ofHalospin-offs. Among the suggestions are aHaloMMO,LEGO Haloand aHaloracing game....

Anti-console war shirt asks too much of us

I love the idea of a unified world where we love all consoles equally. I mean, I’m not in, as I have my favorites, but I get it, and I love the idea. It’s never happening, though. We all know the _________ is way better than the ________. Our (love when they say “our”) first-party games are all we need. Your system has shovelware. Blah blah blah. This Coexiist (I see what you did there) features lettering from all the systems you love (or hate), trying to show equality among the systems....
