Right here is where I’d normally say a few things (perhaps some of them “funny”) about this new clip Electronic Arts sent us to promoteBrütal Legend, but it would be mostly pointless. After the break, there’s video you’ll see of Jack Black (the voice ofBrütal Legend‘s Eddie Riggs) doing some stuff and saying some thing. Then the game’s producer/creator, Double Fine’s Tim Schafer, comes out and says some things. Then, Jack Black throws up....

As many of you know, I stopped playingGuitar Hero IIIshortly after I bought it. I got stuck on Tenacious D’s “The Metal” on Expert, and after I became frustrated with the game’s arbitrarily difficult note charts, I boughtRock Bandin mid-December. Since then, theGH IIIdisc has not seen the inside of my PS3. Consequently, I have not spent a single penny onGH IIIDLC — not even when one of my favorite bands, Muse, was put in the game....

Here’s a blast from the past. Commodore USA has announced that they’re going back to their roots, producing a line of “all in one” computer systems including one based on the classic Commodore 64 beige box design from the 1980’s (pictured above). The systems may look old on the outside but have enough packed inside to make for a rather serviceable computer. The Commodore PC64 will include an Intel Atom 535 processor with an NVIDIA Ion2 graphics card, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, a terabyte hard disk and a DVD-ROM (with optional Blu-Ray)....

In the grand pantheon of things gamers like to do I would say that we like comparing things almost as much as making top ten lists about things. Whenever the opportunity arises we like to compare two things together whether they be apples and apples or apples and oranges. The latest opportunity to comparehas arisenand the two subjects are thePS3 (Phat) and the PS3 Slim. Size wise the Slim wins, but what about in speed?...

Have you had enough Duke withDuke Nukem Forever? No? Turns out a small Danish studio called Interceptor Entertainment is right there with you, as it’s working on a high-def remake ofDuke Nukem 3D. Duke Nukem 3D: Reloadedhas been acknowledged and greenlit by Gearbox Software, though it’s not planned for an actual commercial release. Interceptor has also managed to get Jon St. John into the recording studio to contribute further dialog for the game....

David Beckham has signed on as thebrand ambassador for EA’s Sports Active 2, says the Twitter feed forEASActiveGirl. Judging by thenew trailer up at the game’s official webpage, the kicky ball star has something to do with the title, though we’ll have to wait to hear how involved he is. “Brand ambassador” sounds like spokesperson, but I’m sure they’ll work him into the game somehow. We know that Beckham will be featured in advertising and retail displays in Europe and Australia....

If there’s one thing fighting fans love to do, it’s telling Capcom how to run their business. Personally, I think R. Mika should make aSuper Street Fighter IVcomeback, but that’s neither here nor there. What is both hereandthere, though, is this quotation fromTatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Starsproducer Ryota Niitsuma: “If sales are really good, then you can see an announcement [for another game] within this year,” he told Kotaku this morning....

Yesterday, much to everyone’s non-surprise,LEGO Rock Bandwas revealed to the world. Despite the fact that we’ve had time to prepare for its arrival, reactions were… mixed. The “family friendly” marriage of the LEGO andRock Bandbrands has some people crying foul, perhaps worried that it means wearing theirRock Band“guitar icon” t-shirt won’t be as cool on the playground any more. Others are open to the fact that maybe playingRock Bandwith LEGOs could be at the very least, I don’t know, fun?...

In a private room at the back of a fancy Beverly Hills restaurant, Michael McWhertor fromKotakuand I had a chance to sit down and talk with two members of G-Unit — Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo — about their roles in the upcoming Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 game50 Cent: Blood on the Sand. The interview was amazing. Not only are Banks and Yayo two of the coolest people on the planet (infinitely cooler than I will ever be), they are actually true, honest-to-God gamers....

Now, Konami finally put outCastlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, which contains a remake of the gameRondo of Blood, as well as the original version of the game, and a re-translated port ofSymphony of the Night. Gamefly has dropped prices on a whole slew of used games that are worth taking a gander at. Meanwhile, everyone else has a pretty meager offering in the ad circulars, with the exception of Best Buy’s $20 drop onBrothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway....

The latest Media Create data tells us that the Nintendo DS has reclaimed its position this week as the top selling console in Japan. ThePSP has had a good runwith the launch of the redesigned portable as well as with the hit gameCrisis Core, but the DS finally inched out the PSP this week with 87,535 moved over the PSP’s 86,895. Nintendo’s other console isn’t doing as well, and hasn’t been for a few weeks....
