The assumption has long been that someday the game would be taken into the modern era, something all but confirmed by the ending ofAssassin’s Creed 2. I’ve been playingKillzone 3this afternoon, so that might color my opinion ofCrysis 2. Sorry, but it’s difficult to go from a very competent and finely crafted online shooter to … this. We haven’t heard aboutMedabotsDS since last September, but a small update has recently surfaced in the form of some funky new concept art. The doodles show off the character Kabuto, and feature a range of quirky designs for the yellow robot. Kabuto will be the eponymous character in one of two versions ofMedabots. The two versions areKabutoandKuwaga. We’re not sure what the difference between the two games will be, but we’re sure it’ll work exactly likePokemon....

Great news for all haters of obsolete, egotistical, pointless Hollywood meddling. It seems that the dreadedMetal Gear Solidmovie, by far one of the most pointless ideas of all time, isn’t going to happen. The film’s producer has confirmed that its chances aren’t very high at all, citing a lack of matching agendas. “Video game companies are very protective of their property and there are certain things a studio requires freedom-wise to market and distribute a movie effectively in a global marketplace and sometimes getting those two things to match up is really hard,” Michael De Luca....

THQ’s upcoming shooterMetro 2033is slightly more upcoming than we had anticipated. The Russian-themed post-apocalyptic FPS has just been announced for a March 16 release date in North America. Europe will be getting the game on March 19. A limited edition version of the game has also been announced, which strikes me as arrogant for a fresh IP, but there you are. The special edition comes with an exclusive in-game weapon and four art cards....

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walkeris getting bundled with a limited edition PSP-3000 when it hits North America on June 8. The “Spirited Green” PSP comes packed with a UMD copy of the game, a downloadable movie voucher and a 2GB memory stick. It’ll retail for $199.99. Customers will also get exclusive in-game items, including FOX camouflage uniform and Stealth Gun. Not quite as a expansive as theJapanese bundle, which is ten times better....
