Xbox 360 getting an exclusive Crysis 2 multiplayer demo

On Tuesday,Crysis 2will receive a multiplayer demo — and it’s exclusive to Xbox 360. Xbox LIVE Gold members only, you hear? Players will take it to the streets of Manhattan on a single map called Skyline. Two modes — team versus team deathmatch, and a control point variant — are what’s being offered. Personally, I find it odd that Crytek is putting out this demo since there’s already such fierce competition for FPS gamers’ time....

Little Red Riding Hood’s Zombie BBQhas been released for DSiWare in Europe this past week. The game is going for 800 Nintendo Points and it’s unknown if this is actually the full retail game or a trimmed down version. 27 million balls busted in Combat Arms and other fun stats

You may rememberCombat Arms. A few months ago we showed you a hilarious trailer for the free-to-play MMO first-person shooter featuring nothing less than the best FPS mechanic ever —the nut shot. People seem to like it as much as we do....

300 is the first videogame movie translation? What did I miss?

You and I know the300as the CG-heavy movie retelling the story of the Spartan’s fight against the Persian King. I thought it was based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel, but Sony Pictures’ Yair Landau is calling it a videogame translation. “Even though it’s based on a graphic novel, the execution of that graphic novel was more to video games – and so you could say300is the first video game movie translation even though it’s not really based on a video game....

Acclaim opens beta on kung-fu MMO; it’s really not horrible, I swear!

Repeatedly, developer after developer takes their swing atWorld of Warcraft, and so far, all of them have failed. First there wasEverquest 2(which was throttled soundly), then there wasDungeons and Dragons Online(which was pummeled with a bag of twenty-sided die), and most recently was Reality (whose utter collapse killed us all so quickly, we have yet to realize it). Next in line to take a whack at the reigningubermenschof MMOs is Acclaim’s9Dragons(yes, that’s the correct spelling), which, as an email I received earlier today announced, has just entered open, free beta....

A flyer advertisingMass Effect 3has been spotted, and it reveals potentially grievous news for those averse to the increasingly popular “online pass” scheme. The wider reaching implication is, of course, that multiplayer is coming toMass Effectin BioWare’s next chapter, but no official confirmation has been made. Whatever’s in store for us when the game launches, it looks like part of it will be hidden behind a wall until you prove your loyalty to Electronic Arts … or pay a $10 toll, like a troll guarding a bridge would demand....
