Last month we told you about a newRambogamecoming to Japanese arcades. We didn’t expect to run into it in Japan almost one month later, but we did today at the Sega Joypolis arcade in Odaiba. We dropped in two 100 yen coins and got to work. As promised,Rambothe arcade game has two guns and a huge 62-inch display. The game starts out with an introduction using footage straight from the Rambo movie....
It appears Bioware is planning to releaseMass Effect 2as a two-disc game. “Why (two) discs,” Bioware community manager Chris Priestly asks in anofficial message board threadabout the game spanning two discs, “Answer: because you cannot fit this much awesome on one disc.” Priestly doesn’t reveal the true reason for the need of two discs, but we’re willing to assume that it has to do with the sheer size of the content....
Tecmo Koei today unleashed a ludicrous amount ofDead or Alive Dimensionsscreens. The big-boobed fighter is looking pretty damn good, and it ought to be a nice graphical benchmark for the system. The new assets show off therecently revealedMetroidstage, as well as a bunch of characters, one of which is sporting a costume based on Koei’s little-known Wii RPG,Opoona. That’s nice. Check ’em out, let us know if you’re planning to buy it....
I lovedMadWorld. I didn’t always like it, but I always loved it. The graphics, the character design, the boss fights, the soundtrack; they were all enough to keep the game’s various shortcomings from bothering me. I feel that way, more or less, about all of Platinum Games’s titles thus far. There are little things I don’t like about all of them, but the love is still there regardless. That’s why I’m losing my sh*t overMax Anarchy....
Monday Night Combatis the fourth title in this year’s Summer of Arcade promotion on Xbox Live Arcade, due out in a couple of weeks. Above, you can view a trailer featuring the assassin character class in action. The influence fromTeam Fortress 2is apparent, which can be good or bad depending on your perspective. What’s caught my eye is how much it reminds me of an arcade multiplayer game,The Grid, which was the last thing Midway released to arcades back in 2001....
The fan-made Mega Man filmwe have been reporting on for awhile nowis finally out! Eddie Lebron’s live-action adaptation of the classic Capcom videogame is done, and it’s now onScrewAttackfor your viewing pleasure. You’ll have to set aside 90 minutes to watch it all. I’ve been watching it this morning while working and I have to say that it’s not half bad. The audio is mostly impressive. The CG isn’t quite “Hollywood,” but it gets the job done, and looks really nice in some scenes....
Well, my day has been made. A couple of weeks ago, I almost broke down and boughtMight and Magic: Clash of Heroesfor DS, thinking that Capybara’shigh-def versionfor PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade was stuck in development hell. Not so! Joystiq reports that the studio has finalized mid-April as its release window. Incredibly reassuring news after such a long period of silence. Between the slick hand-drawn art, rebalanced units, and online multiplayer, this is looking like an absolute must-buy....
Peter Molyneux, Lionhead head honcho, recently toldgamesindustry.bizthatFable IIcould possibly become a digital download on the Xbox 360. He said that it would be “a great thing for [Lionhead] to work on,” but refused to toss out any specifics as to how it could go down. When pressured for more information, he said if he talked about it more he “would be killed to death.” IfFable IIwere released digitally before the Xbox 720, it would be the first full Xbox 360 game offered on Xbox Live Marketplace....

More ofGuitar Hero 5‘s 85-song setlist has been announced, and includes a slew of artists new to music gaming, as well as a few exclusives. Of note, Public Enemy and Zakk Wylde have teamed up for a remake, “Bring The Noise 20XX,” exclusive forGuitar Hero 5. Additionally, AFI’s upcoming single “Medicate” will premiere on the game disc, in advance of the band’s upcoming album,Crash Love. Billy Idol’s “Dancing With Myself,” also makes an appearance, which means I can stop singing it into my hairbrush every morning....
Both Thor: God of Thunder & Captain America: Super Soldier were announced as new 3DS titles by Sega today. Both games were released on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS earlier this year, and now they’re going 3D portable. We have next to nothing on these two games. I don’t have a record player but I still find myself wanting this upcoming limited edition vinyl release from Square Enix Music. It’s called W/F: Music from Final Fantasy XIII -Gentle Reveries-, and it’s a hand-picked vocal and melodic selection from game composer Masashi Hamauzu. Side A: Side B: To nab this 12-inch, 2,800 yen record you’ll have to get a pre-order in Japan. They have been taking orders starting from yesterday through June 16th....
Billy Corgan is really excited about being inGuitar Hero World Tour. Not only does it bring music to the masses, but seeing a digital likeness of his lanky, bony frame and Skeletor-like face just makes him feel good. Corgan is one of the many musicians confirmed to be included inWorld Tour, among Ozzy Osbourne, Paramore’s Haley Williams, and drummer Travis Barker. The inclusion of musicians is just one of the things that Activision Blizzard and Neversoft are hoping will setWorld Tourapart from its competition....
