Have some of the first Final Fantasy Agito XIII trailer

Man, the PSP is getting some incredible love from Square as of late — betweenCrisis Core,Parasite Eve: The 3rd Birthdayand now this, PSP owners that wish they had more to play will suddenly have their hands full. I don’t know if Square-Enix has just mastered the ability to excite me or what, but watching this trailer definitely did the job. In case you’ve missedpreviouspostsaboutAgito, the game boasts everything from Square’s trademark pretty boys to the ability to get your multiplayer on, but considering it has been said that the game will not see store shelves until bothFinal Fantasy XIIIandVersusare out, I wouldn’t hold your breath on this one — it’s going to be a while....

Here, have some new TERA videos

It’s been a while since I paid attention toTERAafter having fun with it atgamescom ’10and screwing around with the controller gameplay atPAX. Mostly it’s because it’s still an MMO, there are too many games to play as it is, and I’m perfectly content with waiting until the game hits beta. But not everyone likesWorld of Warcraft, so here are two videos which show off two of the action-oriented MMO’s dungeons. And a boss....

Hey Ash, Whatcha Podcastin’: episode one

Two Burch siblings. One crappy microphone. Sixty minutes of rambling, oft-incoherent musings on sexism and gaming. Welcome to theofficial podcastfrom the creators and stars ofHey Ash, Whatcha Playin‘. This being the first-ever episode of the Hey Ash, Whatcha Podcast (alternate titles: Hey Ash, Whatcha Podcastin’, the HAWPcast, etc), two things are for certain: firstly, that it will be much more awkwardly structured than later episodes, and secondly, that the existence of later episodes isn’t really a certainty....

Is there a ‘Classics HD’ line coming from Sony?

Eagle eyed Europeans have beenscoping out the box artfor the upcomingThe Sly Collection. a compilation of the threeSly Coopergames with HD and Move controls added, and they’ve spotted something rather interesting. The box art definitely labels the game as part of a “Classics HD” series. OK, so you didn’t have to be that eagle eyed to notice that, but it does raise the question of what the hell “Classic HD” is since Sony has never mentioned it....

John Carmack hates Vista, maybe you should too

John Carmack is a great many things. He’s an idol to programmers, a model of the American dream and a giant lizard. Wait, no, scratch that last one. John Carmack is not a giant lizard. Gamesindustry.bizposteda few choice words Carmack had recently on Microsoft’s new OS, Vista, and none of them are flattering. You’d think that some of the “the’s” and “is’s” would be, but you would be wrong. All of Carmack’s articles are filled with pure derision....

Kick around kensei this fall in Kengo: Legend of the 9 for the Xbox 360

Let’s face it — samurai are pretty sweet. Not quite as sweet as ninja, but I’d never say this to a samurai’s face, as (much like ninja) one wouldn’t hesitate to kill me in an instant. Still, I have a tendency to shoot off at the mouth after a few Red Bull and vodkas, so some samurai training might be in order. This fall, thanks to Majesco, I might get my first next-gen taste of what being a samurai is all about....

Killzone 2 sells 20,000 launch copies in Japan

Japan may not be known for its love of first-person-shooters, but it seems that PS3 exclusiveKillzone 2is helping our friends in the East to buck cultural stereotypes. According toreports, Guerrilla’s excellent sequel has sold 20,000 copies in its first day. Not bad for such a Western game. The last PS3 exclusive FPS,Resistance 2, sold 33,000 in its opening week, so it would seem thatKZ2is almost certain to surpass Sony’s last big shooter....

Koei Media Day: Warriors Orochi video collection

Good morning readers! Look, I know I post about Koei an awful lot sometimes and maybe it annoys a few people who aren’t fans of their games. I do apologize for that, especially today, as I have a huge big fat wad of Koei videos for you which I am now in the process of posting. My contact in Koei was supposed to have me these videos before the embargo lifted so I could bring them to you ASAP, but sadly they’ve not arrived in the mail yet — stupid Atlantic Ocean getting in the way....

Konami announces Shadow of Destiny for PSP

We kind of already knew this, but act surprised for Konami’s sake. The really strange but totally original PlayStation 2 title Shadow of Destiny is making its way to the PSP, Konami announces today. As I’ve said before, there’s plenty of endings to go through (I think eight in total), so you might as well jump on the portable version and get to the ones you missed before. The puzzle-based game play should make for a good portable game....
