Man steals game console from the casket of dead teenager

There’s opportunism, and then there’s just plain douchebaggery. Pennsylvanian man Jody Lynn Bennett appears to have gone with the latter category, stealing a games console and accessories from inside the casket of a seventeen-year-old boy. The boy, Bradley McCombs, was killed in an SUV crash on Christmas Day, and his body was displayed at the funeral with a number of videogame items. It’s not clear whether he tried to be subtle, or just ran into the funeral home, grabbed the swag, and ran away....

Mega Man gets cozy in this modified fan art

A little while back, I posted some official art from Capcom depicting Mega Man’s female counterpartRoll lying around with a bunchof other versions of the character in a semi-cuddly, maybe-groping manner. The art was sold in Japan on either a mug or a jigsaw puzzle. At the time, I thought the art was either creepy or cute, depending on how you looked at it. I wonder what all of you think of the art now that Roll has been swapped out for the many forms of Mega Man we’ve seen over the years....

The first Mega64GDC ad showedthe convention off as a giant party. Thesecond GDC adwas all about the nerds. Both ads failed to get passed butthird timesthe charm, right? Well, if you’re Anthony Burch, then you’ll love this ad! If you’re not, then you won’t understand it at all but will pretend to know the meaning behind it just so you’re able to fit in with the “in crowd” because the girl with the thick framed glasses is really cute and you think you have a chance but unfortunately for you she’s going to commit suicide in a week because she saw a pigeon take a crap and it moved her so much she just couldn’t handle life anymore....

Microsoft rumored to announce ‘Avatar Kinect’ at CES

“Avatar Kinect.” What could it be? One would imagine it will in some way involve players controlling their Xbox Avatars by moving about in real life. Perhaps the greater question — should that description prove to be accurate — is why would someone want to do such a thing? I suppose we’ll have to wait until Wednesday evening for Microsoft’s CES keynote. Dale will be at the show, and at least one of us will have an eye on the livestream of the event; either way, we’ll let you know about this mystery project....

Mirror’s Edge Demo Trailer features a sexy new trainer

Mirror’s Edgedemo, you say? Why yes, you can march to your PS3 and download that sucker right now. If you have a 360, you’ll have to wait a day, but you can keep yourself amused playingPenny Arcade Adventures Episode Twoin the meantime, which I’m having a blast with. The video above is actually a trailer for the demo (something I don’t recall seeing often: a tease for a tease of the actual game) and features a sexy blonde who shows Faith the ropes when it comes to acrobatic skyscraper exploration....

MW2 sells twice as well on the 360

Hold on. Let me get out my lighter fluid and my large fan because I’m about to douse some fanboy flames in the stuff then fan them until they’re miles high. I know some of you had to be wondering which system would sell more ofthe most popular game EVAR, andnow we have that answer. Sony fanboys, you lost. Xbox 360 copies of the game outsold PS3 copies by a ratio of 2-to-1....

New Binary Domain screenshots be bringin’ the brown

Sega has put up some new screenshots forBinary Domain, and it’s looking as washed-out as ever. I really hope they put some bolder colors in before this game releases, because it’s looking so very unremarkable. I don’t like to harp on about graphics, but when your game looks likeMindjack, you should do all in your power to not look likeMindjack. Anyway, you can check out these screens for some human-on-robot violence....

New DSi update brings flash cart device blockery

We keep going back and forth on the whole DSi flash cart issue, mostly because Nintendo is working to keep these R4-ish devices out of the cartridge slot of your system. You see, they like it when you buy their games. The DSi 1.4J firmware was supposed to bring Facebook functionality to the handheld, but it also brought the digital smackdown for your piracy devices. The following have been blocked by the update:...
