PSPgo gutted, battery is ‘unofficially’ user-replaceable

Breaking: PSPgo dismemberment reveals battery placement chicanery! You remember when Sony said that the PSPgo batterywould be untouchablein an effort to curb piracy? Well, it turns out that the batterycanbe removed, but that Sony thought it could simply slap a warranty-voiding sticker over the thing to try and dissuade people, rather than employ some sort of competent security. That’s about the only reason I can think of for Sony doing this, effectively ending the warranty of anybody who feels the need to replace their PSPgo battery....

Put a turkey or an alien on your Sackboy next week

What’s the most pointless Thanksgiving artifact that you could adorn a Sackboy with? How about a turkey? According toSiliconera, next Thursday’s free downloadable costume consists of a turkey that can be placed on Sackboy’s head. We’re not sure if its cooked, but the idea of entrails spilling into the lovely little avatar’s eyes is worth more than a giggle. In addition to a turkey, it appears as though the paid option will be a fancy Chimera costume, modeled after the villains ofResistance: Fall of Man....

Quake 3 running on Nexus One is impressive

First, plug your ears. Check this out.Quake 3has been squished down to fit on the Nexus One phone with little in the way of compromises. You’ll see that it runs at a great framerate on the Nexus’ widescreen display. It was one that worked fine on the Droid, which points to an easy port. One problem, though: there’s no physical keys to control the game with on the Nexus One. As a workaround, the port has mapped the control to the trackball (look) and volume rocker (move) instead....
