Mass Effect 2 concentrated into one PS3 launch trailer

This is it, gentlemen.Mass Effect 2is almost upon us — again! (January 18, if you’re keeping track.) To keep it at the front of your mind, BioWare has whipped up a launch trailer. In it, we’re shown a considerable amount of late-game sequences, but of course new players won’t recognize any of it due to the quick, out-of-context nature. Throw in some Martin Sheen narration, and yep, your job is done....

Miyamoto’s favorite Mario game is Super Mario World

News has been rather light today, so let’s kick the night off with an old fashioned playground-style argument about Mario. More specifically, your favorite Mario title. Before you answer, take a look at what Shigeru Miyamoto, the father of the iconic character, told Game Hunters in response to that question: “Super Mario World(1991) is something that included of course all the action you saw inSuper Mario Bros.but it also had the map features, so it also had that element of players having to think about where they were going and what they were going to do next....

MotoGP ’08 for the Wii is coming soon

Capcom just announced thatMotoGP ’08for the Wii ships next Tuesday, March 24. According to the little blurb we received with the release information, you can look forward to controlling the motorcycles in the game with the Wii remote — just likeExciteTrucks, except without trucks and the make-believe physics. Way back in the day, I’m guessing around 2002, I played the hell out ofMotoGPbecause a demo of the game came packaged with the first Xbox Live Starter Kit....

N+ brings that tasty ninja goodness to DS and PSP

Ninjasare fantastic. This has been universally true throughout history. Regardless ofcontext, everyninjainrealityorfictionhas dripped with pure, sugary, crystalising cool, beforeflipping offin the burst of a smoke bomb to flip around and becool elsewhere. In particular, the relationship between video games and ninjas has traditionally spawned vast teeming hordes ofcool,flipping,stabbing,stealth-killing offspring, and that looks to continue with Atari’s upcomingN+for the DS and PSP. LikeLinerider, which is now on the way for theWii and DS, the game is a conversion of an existingonline Flash game, and another damn fine one at that....

NCAA Football 09 cover artwork unveiled…well, one of the covers, anyway

A good amount of sports fans prefer college football to pro football. Here’s why: college football is, well, less professional than the NFL. This often lends itself to a more exciting game. You’ll see many more trick plays and lead changes, but that’s also due to the lower skill level — d-backs blow coverages, linebackers miss tackles, and overall, things are just more crazy. In the spirit of spicing things up on the college end, EA is featuring four different athletes on the covers of the varying platform versions of their upcoming college football videogame,NCAA Football 09....

New details show Deus Ex is not your average FPS

Deus Ex: Human Revolutionis set in an alternate future where the debate over human augmentation has escalated into rioting and violence as those against tampering with humanity fight proponents of progressive science. All is not flowers and unicorns within the scientific camp either, as two organizations battle for supremacy of the augmentation market. I will admit I have a hard time not looking forward to this game. I like the idea of the story being crafted here, and what the development team is trying to do....

New Lost in Shadow screenshots

We got a batch of images for Hudson’sLost in Shadowtonight. They show off the eighth area of the game (according to the name of the folder they arrived in) and, apparently, there’s a lot of water in the level. I know this game is going to be cool, but these screenshots are not making it seem appealing. The foreground elements are distracting and, while this is a Wii game and should be viewed from that perspective, everything is so muddled that I’m having a hard time looking at them without being a bit repulsed....
