Now, a Swedish retailerWebhallen seems to thinkthat there’s aPearl Jam: Rock Bandin the works. They even have some (not really that) fancy box art to go along with its listing....

Review: Mega Man 10

WhenMega Man 9was released in 2008, the game freaked people out with its ability to emotionally transport thirty-something gamers back to the late 1980s. The game’s graphics, music, and design choices were all straight out of theMega Man 2playbook, a playbook that hadn’t been used much in the past 20 years. Experiencing this style of game effectively made me feel like a kid again. The design missteps ofMega Man 7and andMega Man 8were erased from my mind, and my love of Mega Man was back in full force....

Review: Terminator: Salvation

I have always had a certain fondness for theTerminatorfilms, even though I struggle almost daily with the way time travel apparently worked in the series. Maybe they’re using some sort of non-linear model of time that I simply cannot grasp, but I don’t understand how it is that John Connor can send his own father back through time to impregnate Sarah Connor (thus bringing John into existence). Nevertheless, I have endured because the films have largely been fun romps....

Rockstar spreads the Xmas spirit

Tis the season for Xmas cards and tis the season for PR and gaming companies to flood my snail mail box with their well wishes. I thought you all might like to see the holiday cheer that Rockstar has sent me and the chick-with-big-boobs-sitting-on-Santa’s-lap joy that Wild Tangent sent along. Happy holidays everybody!

Rumortoid: Playable female character in Gears of War

So you may have noticed the severe lack of women in theGears of Waruniverse. There’s Dom’s wife, that other woman who keeps yelling at you over the intercom and I think I saw one running for her life at one point. Outside of that female appearances in theGearsgames are slim to none. Evidently mankind’s last stand can truly only be taken by men.Or can the ladies join in too? Speaking on an episode of1 vs....

SCEA: Don’t blame us for PSP Minis pricing

When the PSP Minis prices werefinally revealed, I was amazed. This service, intended to do for the PSP what Apps did for the iPhone, was idiotic. Games started at $4.99 and went as high as ten bucks.Tetriswas $9.99, twice as much as its iPhone counterpart. Sony, however, hasdenied responsibilityfor the stupid prices, claiming that it’s up to the developer. “As far as pricing goes, the publisher of the title sets the pricing,” explains Sony’s Eric Lempel....

Scraps: Everyone’s out at The Dark Knight today (7/18/08)

I know where all of you are. Out raving about how goodThe Dark Knight. Oh my stars and bars, was that a fantastic movie. But I’ll try not to turn this space into my own personal ranting area, for surely enough Chester will snatch the reins back from my hand and give me a good whipping for the insolence I’ve caused. What we’ve got here are a few interesting things of note, especially for our UK friends....

Scribblenauts has the greatest ESRB rating summary ever

From time to time, those of us with way too much time on our hands like to peruse (see: troll) the ESRB’s Web site for whatever information we can find. This comes in the form of XBLA/PSN games being revealed early, plot spoilers, and the occasional hilarious rating summary. Scribblenautsfalls under that last one. For the full summary, which was spottedby GoNintendo, simplyclick here. Otherwise, here’s the simplified version: “If multiple words are entered in a sequence, different whimsical scenarios can be triggered: a bicycle can be used to jump over a baby; a bulldozer can clear away a shark; and cabbage can be fed to dinosaurs....
