What’s this? Some kind of videogame controller fromION Audio? Received from an anonymous source, we’ve been able to find no information on this ION “Total Control” (which appears to be a game controller/keyboard/mouse hybrid controller-thingie) from the folks responsible for the premiumRock Band“Drum Rocker” controller. Looking at the ION website, it doesn’t look at ION has create game controllers outside of the drums before. Could ION be poised to make an announcement at E3?...

As the Japanese release of Mistwalker’s first DS RPGArchaic Sealed Heatdraws closer, some Japanese television commercials have been released, and they manage to do something that North American commercials seem to have gotten away from — showing actual gameplay. These days we get enough floating eggs, screaming people, laser beams, sex scenes, and various other kinds of nonsense in our video game commercials, so it’s really refreshing to see two commercials that center completely around gameplay....

This is the sequel to a Japanese button-masher with a story so incomprehensible it required a 26-episode anime to make sense of. This one adds new playable characters but I’m betting they didn’t add better writing and/or translation. We’re firing up the PlayStation 2 as we speak, ready to “KICK THEIR ASS!” as the game so succinctly puts it....

Before we’ve covered things likeSuper Dodge BallandSagat’s theme song, but our new release touches on the short songs from games. Jingle All the Waymight sound Christmasy, and it is if you think of it as a (free) gift, but it’s more about games’ jingles, like the death or victory songs. You know, the little ditties that get stuck in your head....

After getting back from school today, I saw a big box waiting for me on my bed. I thought to myself “Oh, videogame companies! They’ll never get tired of spoiling me with free stuff!” After opening the box, I was greetedwith this boxand got really excited. I never know what I’m getting usually and automatically assumed this was the Collector’s Edition ofBatman: Arkham Asylum. As it turned out, the box contained the regular edition ofBatman: Arkham Asylumfor the PS3, some playing cards, an ID badge and a straitjacket with my name on it....

I really love service provided by the good folks atGood Old Games, mostly for finally delivering to me a version ofFalloutwhich actually works the way it’s supposed to in Windows XP.Today, they’ve given me a whole new reason to love them as they’ve released one of my favorite point-and-click games and it’s totally free. Beneath a Steel Skyis a really cool cyberpunk story set in a dystopian Australia. The game has a great mechanic where you can put the personality of your childhood robot into a number of different bodies for solving puzzles, with often humorous reactions from the bot as you switch him around....

Like most sane people, I’m eagerly anticipating Double Fine’sBrütal Legend, and will gladly take any excuse I can to talk about it. Luckily, publisher Electronic Arts has decided to pander to our whims, releasing a new batch of screenshots and a few slices of artwork for we rudderless guppies to gawp at and fawn over. I am absolutely digging the art direction of this game, especially the eyeless, massive-toothed enemies that I’m sure are inspired by some album cover that I can’t quite put my finger on....
