Japan is wacky for Wii Fit

According to Next Gen, Famitsu asked its readers what they thought the top 10 news stories of recent shows like E3 2007 and Tokyo’s PlayStation Premiere were, and Nintendo’s announcement ofWii Fittopped the list. It looks like Japan is slightly more enthusiastic about the new Nintendo fitness peripheral than many ofour readersandeditorsare. TheWii Fitsoftware and board news even topped the impressiveMetal Gear Solid 4gameplay demo, and that’s not to mention the newSony PlayStation Portable redesignor any other PS3 or Xbox 360 title announcement....

L.A. Noire becomes fastest selling new IP in UK

Team Bondi’sL.A. Noirehas, quite unsurprisingly, broken a sales record to become the fastest selling new property in British history. In addition, it’s become the 15th fastest selling game on Xbox 360 and the 11th fastest on PS3. So far, its sales have matched those of Rockstar’s last major release,Red Dead Redemption. Chart-Track, as usual, refused to release solid sales data, only giving us these lovely little comparisons. Did anybody think this game would flop?...

Live Show: Backlog continues Mushroom Men: The Spore War

You know Pax, right? He’s a realfun-gi, eh? Eh? We’re four hours in toMushroom Men: The Spore Waron Backlog and I’m having fun. There are some frustrating design elements, like the combat which has taught me that cutting and running is often the best solution. MagnaCarta2 gets an iPhone app?

I’m sick and f*cking tired of the phrase “There’s an App for that,” but the truth is that there probably is. Take RPG MagnaCarta2, for instance. Why would a console game need an iPhone App? I couldn’t guess, but there’s one coming anyway. TheMagnaCarta2 Title Guideis story bits, game information, art and more packed into a handy pocket guide. It looks like there will also be movies to watch. It isn’t quite a strategy guide (which would be great), but more of a free promotion that you can stick on your phone....

Custom creationsmake me amazingly happy. I think most of all I love the idea of injecting a much loved system with creativity and individuality.eBayis always a great source for these types of treasures, such as this custom paintedMetroidNES. As cool as it is, starting it at $199 seems like instant eBay death — don’t you people know the key to Internet bidding is fooling people into thinking something is cheap and then continually yanking the fishhook as the price goes up?...
