Atlus’ puzzle-horror adventureCatherinehas had the most diverse reactions of a videogame in recent memory. Fortunately, now Australians can decide for themselves as the game hasjust been announcedto be released later this year. This news is somewhat of a surprise considering the trouble you would expectCatherineto have when faced with Australia’s strict classifications for videogames. There’s no exact release date in place yet, but the distributors, QV Software, are shooting for October....

Just like in previous years, we’ve pulled together a collection of things at the Consumer Electronics Show that make us saywhat the f*ck?Really, really weird things are interspersed with huge high-definition televisions, cameras, and mobile phones at this show. In addition to getting to playStarCraft IIat Blizzard last week, I also got a chance to interview lead game designer Dustin Browder. He was able to give us a bit more detail about the single-player mode ofStarCraft II, what their vision was when designing the game, what’s up with the three separate games for each campaign, and some additional details about what’s planned for the multiplayer and Battle.net. One of the coolest things about interviewing Dustin was that he was clearly passionate about the game — when talking about all the new stuff they were putting in, his face would light up, he’d get really animated, and overall he was a ton of fun to talk to....

If you watchDoctor Whoover in the UK, you may have already seen this trailer. It aired immediately following the credits for this week’s episode, “Victory of the Daleks,” on BBC One last night and seems to have a fair bit to do with the plot of that story. The trailer gives us a little peek at what we’ll be in for in this series of four episodic games. It looks like the Daleks have caused some complications in the timeline, as we’re shown a rather damaged 1963 and it’s down to The Doctor and companion Amy Pond to save the day....

If you feel that your portable gaming lacks rumble, you might want to hold out until something better thanthiscomes along. What you’re looking at is the “SmartStylus” — it’s a stylus for your DS, except it looks like one of those giant novelty pencils that your gran buys for you on holiday. Oh, it also vibrates, apparently. Webriefly featured it yesterday, but here’s a picture of the monstrosity. As you can see, it may very well be nature’s cruelest mistake....

Atlus held a special Halloween contest last month called Atlus-O-Weenie. People just needed to submit photos of themselves dressed up as Atlus videogame characters and then fans could vote for their favorites on Atlus USA’s Facebook page. The votes were tallied up and the grand prize winner of all thisDemon’s Soulshotnesswas Evan, otherwise known asEarthbounderNesshere at Destructoid. Five other winners were also selected (one by Atlus, four at random) and will be getting a bunch of Atlus games, art and more....

As I was watching Colette and Dale play Square-Enix’sInfinite Undiscoveryon the E3 show floor, I literally backed up and bumped intoChrono Trigger DS. “Oh, look, it’sChrono Trigger DS!” I exclaimed as I quickly pulled out the stylus from the DS display and began to play. “I’m so excited!” Unfortunately, it is kind of hard to play an epic RPG at an industry show — since the genre is almost impossible to just pick up in play — but I tried my best as I was very much looking forward to getting my hands on the DS iteration of one of the greatest role-playing games ever made....

When Hamza and I went to the Konami event a ways back, I did avery brief previewofTekken 6. The reason it was so brief is because at that time there was very little to report on. While that’s not a knock on the title in any way, there just hadn’t been anything in the way of new content to with regards to what everyTekkentitle has previously delivered on. While a bit quiet on the radar since ourexclusive revealof the game,Nail’dis still looking plenty hot. Despite the game’s name making it sound like it’s up to something raunchy,Nail’dis actually a dirt bike/ATV racer from the fine folks at Deep Silver and Techland. They’re showing it off at E3 and that means trailer time for those of us who aren’t there. I don’t know if setting yourself against the likes ofPureandMotorStormis the best idea in the world, but if they want to climb that mountain then all the power to em’....
