Cave Story Wii gets closer to release, much more yellow

It’s good news/bad news time again. Good news first-Cave Story Wiihas been resubmittedto Nintendo for approval. The game was supposed to be out months ago, but for reasons unknown, Nintendo has been holding it back. I played a very final-feeling version of the game atE3 this year, which makes me think that the game has been done for a while. The word on the street was that the game’s translation needed changing before it could be releases, but I’m guessing that there’s more to it than that....

CES: Killzone 3 in 3D, with the Move Sharp Shooter gun

Earlier today I jumped right into a situation that was so CES it wasn’t even funny: 3D glasses, HD gaming and motion sensing technology, all in one presentation. It wasKillzone 3in 3D, controlled with the PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter gun. I was one in a long line of people to get their ass handed to them in the CES floor demo Sony had set up, but I was surprised at how responsive the camera moved with the movement of the gun....

Check out the edible prototype for Jason Rohrer’s new game

That picture above all these words? That’s a prototype board forJason Rohrer‘s recently-announced, Majesco-published DS game “about diamond trading in Angola on the eve of the passage of theKimberly Process.” Rohrer is keeping gameplay details close to his chest but has revelealed that it will be a two-player, turn-based strategy game. And now I’m torn: I’m abysmal at strategy games but interested in the game’s concept. What to do? In any case, even if Rohrer hadn’tspilled the (garbonzo) beansabout his yet-untitled game being strategy-oriented, the Go pieces kind of give it away, given thatGois probably the oldest and most influential strategy game in history....

There might be games, there might be shirts, there might even be fetuses in the boxes! I really have no idea. So how do you win one of the two boxes?...

Destructoid interview: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Boltscaused quite a stir when it was first revealed. Destructoid interview: Blood Bowl

We are very excited forBlood Bowl. While we’re not Games Workshop obsessives by any means (I’ve tried to get into it several times, but don’t want to sell a kidney to buy all the stuff), none of us can deny the alluring power of goblin football. Needless to say, we are looking forward to this upcoming adaptation of a tabletop classic, and want to know as much as we can....

Destructoid review: Calvin Tucker’s Redneck Jamboree

When a game gets a title likeCalvin Tucker’s Redneck Jamboree, it can be hard to tell what to think. I mean, that could be totally awesome, right? I’m not a big fan of Jeff Foxworthy, but I can appreciate loving jabs at poor Americans living in rural communities. It has potential. Once you know it is a collection of mini-games for the Wii, however, it is much easier to assume that the game will be utter trash, no matter how intriguing the name might be....

Destructoid review: Fatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 2

While I am a big fighting game fan, I’ll admit I know much more about the Capcom and Sega fighting titles than I do of SNK’sFatal Furyseries. But what better way to learn than from a disc of some of what are supposed to be some of the best games in the series? SNK keeps a good thing going with their steady flow of affordable, retro-friendly compilation discs. We recently saw the release ofFatal Fury: Battle Archives Volume 2, a follow up to last fall’sBattle Archives Volume 1....
