TheSoldier is gettinga new melee item called the Equalizer in addition to a bugle....

The Destructoid pizza!

Pizza holds a very special place in my heart. In fact, pizza is a part of the list of inanimate objects I wantto do. Yes, I know, that sounds bad. I blame Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for that (glad I didn’t turn out as bad as thiscrazy byatch though) Anyway, I digress. I speak for the entire staff when I say that we are a part of one of the greatest communities ever....

The Journalism Show: Episode 02

Here’s a thing you can watch if you want. This month’s episode was made for the Podtoid fans out there, and features appearences by our very own Anthony Burch and Brad Nicholson. And, in a somewhat less colorful capacity, my grandfather. Which is kind of neat, I guess. I’m beginning to get the hang of Flash and I think this episode turned out quite a bit better than the first one....

They’re still making Nobunaga’s Ambition games?

I realize that it is the modus operandi of Koei to take a series and run with it for as long as humanly possible, but the fact that we’re still gettingNobunaga’s Ambitiongames after twenty years still blows my mind. Then again, I somehow manage to be fascinated with the WWII era and there are tons of games about that, so I suppose I can relate. The trailer doesn’t give us a whole lot to go on, as it lacks gameplay footage (but what’s with that weird bit of computer simulation stuff at the beginning?...

Thinkgeek offers up the Retro Mini, a portable NES

If you had suggested the idea of a portable NES to me back when I was deep in the throes of my romance with it back in 1986, I would have probably passed out at the idea, despite the fact there’s nothing portable about the size of the game cartridges. Now I have all my NES favorites emulated through my not-R4 for my Nintendo DS, but for those of you that don’t, perhaps you’d like a real NES handheld?...

THQ domains point to ‘Metro 2033 Last Light’

Truth be told, what we know about the sequel toMetro 2033— other than that it’son the way— is limited. Today, well, that doesn’t really change much. Asdiscovered by@supererogatory, THQ has the domains lastlightgame.com, metro2033lastlight.com, and metrolastlight.com. It’s not much to go on, since THQ could move in a number of ways here. Perhaps it’s nothing more than the sequel getting the titleMetro 2033: Last Light, over the nameMetro 2034, which we had heard previously....

Too gay to play: Gay gamer’s name banned from Xbox Live

A gay gamer with the gamertag “theGAYERgamer” hashad his name bannedfrom Xbox Live for being “offensive.” As we all know, Xbox Live is a hotbed of homophobia, but it seems that if enough bigots raise the alarm, they will be appeased. I have had a bad morning. Last night when i tried to sign into my xbox live account “thegayergamer” I was told that it had to be changed. I figured that it was just from people reporting it as an offensive name being that the greater Xbox live community isn’t exactly welcome to gay people, i spend a lot of time muting people on Halo3....
