Here’s a brand new developer diary forThe War of the Worlds, being developed by Other Ocean and coming soon to PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. It looks decent. Graphics and animations aren’t anything to write home about, sure, but I’m a total sucker for everything else they’re saying in this video. That’s the effing title of the game. It’s stunning, and you should definitely see this game in action. My PSP is seriously stoked for this title. Did you see the equipable weapons? Sexy-Jiggling boobs? Prinny hats? Fourth-wall breaking self-awareness that only Japanese developers seem capable of doing, this title is straight up awesome....

Despite the industry’s perpetual felching of 3D’s chocolate squinter, Nintendo believes that the technology has not yet hit the mainstream. Never fear, however, for the 3DS will be the first “mass market” 3D product on the market. When NCsoft announced they had formed Carbine Studios way back in 2007, both companies were tight-lipped about what Carbine would actually be working on, aside from it being a new MMO. Multiplayer is pretty much the main — and only, really — reason you’d want to playAliens vs. Predator Classic 2000in the year 2010. As of today, it is now something we can access; a patch went up on Steam enabling the mode. Backflip Studios is currently working on an iPhone game based upon the 1992 epic,Army of Darkness. Cruelly overlooked by the Academy, this modern classic (and the trilogy it concludes) has been the subject of a number of videogame adaptations over the years with very mixed results. The iPhone title, scheduled for release early in 2011, will have players controlling Ashley Williams as he defends the Necronomicon from Deadites. Word is, there will be some tower defense-inspired gameplay at work....
