A DiRT 3 racing simulator contest to be held at NVIDIA’s GeForce LAN 6 event has a really nice prize: a Digital Storm’s ODEgaming computer. Digital Storm makes some absolute beasts, mind you. I had a chance to spend awhile withone of their top lines latelyand I couldn’t throw anything at it that would bring it down. The prize won’t be as nice as the rig event contestants will be gaming on: a $30,000 full motion racing simulator, powered by Digital Storm....

As far as fandom goes, I would have to say thatHarry Potter, at least for me, reigns on top. I don’t know what it is, but something about the world that J.K. Rowling created that stands out as a marvelous and creative bit of literature. Sure, there is not much about the books, the films, or the games that makes them high…art, media, whatever, but there is a basic element that makes them very satisfying....

BoingBoing put together this delightful collection of death animations from arcade games through their history. Seeing all of these brings back a ton of memories for me. I also really enjoyed the chiptune version of “Mad World” which plays throughout. Just a class act altogether and I’m sure you’ll enjoy watching. It gets me thinking about other death animations that I’ve liked. One of the things which comes to mind isn’t so much an in-game thing, but a continue screen....

The Internet/gaming generation will one day fully consume this world. Continuing its strategy of charging UK gamers extra money just because it can,Starcraft 2‘s publisher is offering the highly anticipated strategy sequel at an inflated retail price. Activision hasdone this beforewithCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2and isplanning to do likewisewithBlack Ops. Starcraft 2‘s recommended retail price in the UK is £44.99, which is more than PC games usually cost. Fortunately, there are many retailers who aren’tmassive twats, so they’ve shaved ten quid off the asking price anyway....

That’s right — you’re able to play as one of six characters from the Bible (and one unlockable fighter, whose identity you can probably guess): Jesus, Moses, Mary and Baby Jesus, Eve, Noah, and Satan. Each fighter naturally comes with their own sets of special moves: Jesus uses his crown of thorns as a projectile weapon, Noah can summon all the animals of the Ark, and Eve can whip with the Devil-Snake....

Followingin the steps of ThinkGeek, Amazon has apparently managedto track downanother forgotten warehouse full of brand new Dreamcasts. The online retailer currently has them up for sale, and is charging $119.99 a piece. Those with good memories may recall that this is $20 more than what ThinkGeek charged, but I guess after their stock sold out in a matter of minutes Amazon realized there was suitable demand to jack up the price a bit....
