Eurogameris reporting that Disney Interactive will be releasingSplit/Secondin May of 2010, and this upsets me. Why? Because that’sso long from now. I’m not sure I can wait that long, especially after having just drooled overthe latest trailer. For those not acquainted withSplit/Second, it’s a racer which focuses on “Power Plays,” acts of destruction triggered by the player to change the track. Examples? How about making a plane crash onto the race track?...

I totally would have used the “tardy” joke in the headline if Atlus hadn’t done so already. Those guys are so clever! Class of Heroeswas coming pretty soon, like next week soon, but now the pretty PSP RPG has been pushed back to June 9th. It seems that a bug was found just in time, holding things up right before it went to print. Safe! Here’s the story per Atlus: “Just days prior to manufacturing, a show-stopping bug was discovered,” explained Aram Jabbari, manager of PR and Sales....

NHL 09andNHL 10are two of my most favorite sports games in recent memory, and this debut trailer forNHL 11has set my mind ablaze with anticipation. (Or maybe my brain feels like it’s on fire because I’ve been writing up E3 posts for twelve straight hours now. Who knows.) Nintendo is bringing new iterations of franchises likeStar FoxorPaper Marioto the recently announced 3DS. But what about new stuff? Familiar faces are fine and all, but what else ya got? Tucked in the corner isSteel Diver, a submarine action-simulation that at looks to feature light, underwater shmup action. While the top screen gives you a full 3D view of the aquatic environment, the touch screen is used to guide the sub and launch torpedoes and perform other sub-like activities....

My interest inWarhammer 40,000: Space Marineis well known. I love me some Games Workshop silliness, and I love big, meaty action games. A merger of the two can only be a good thing, right? It’s certainly looking good! My hands-on time withSpace Marinehad me coming away with a very positive feeling. The flow between shooting and slashing really is fluid, as you can instantly switch between gunfire and melee weaponry without any delay in the action....

Well, the console wars are officially over. Electronic Arts has announced that cynical “me too” fitness game,EA Sports Active 2.0, is coming to multiple platforms, but will skip the Xbox 360 for some reason. The Wii, PS3, and even iPhone are getting a version, but Microsoft has been left in the cold. The PS3 version looks like it’ll be the best, since EA has also revealed that players will get to download new workouts via the PSN....

ESPN has decided to weigh in on the “controversy”, because if there’s one thing sports commentators should be talking about, it’s social issues and videogames! “I was shocked to see Kobe Bryant in the ads, and shooting the grenades off,” says Bomani Jones. He then goes on to claim that his buddy got to “kill Fidel Castro” which pretty much confirms that he didn’t stay to watch the game for a full five minutes before mouthing off about it....

Ex-Bungie developer Christian Allen has claimed thatKillzone 2could “totally be done” on the Xbox 360, despite the natural claims from Guerrilla and Sony that it could not. The now-indie dev states that the 360 and PS3 really aren’t all that different, and thatKZ2does nothing that the 360 couldn’t handle, if the team behind the game felt like making it work. “Oh yeah,Killzone 2could totally be done on 360 if Guerrilla wanted to,” Allen toldHipHopGamer....

Guitar Hero 6development is already well underway, despite the fact that it hasn’t officially been announced. How do we know this? Well, I woke up this morning, the sky is blue, and Jim Sterling upset a bunch of people last week — these are all things that simply happen in nature. Who will be on the soundtrack? Well, we can confirm Tesla now. Yup, the guitarist for the 80s rock outfit recently confirmed that its song “Modern Day Cowboy” has been selected to appear inGuitar Hero 6....
