Here’a novel thought: you buy a game which contains a complete story beginning to end, and the DLC is truly an expansion rather stuff that should have come on the disc in the first place. Wow, really? I like the way this is sounding … and it seems like that may be just the case withHeavy Rain, if what Quantic Dream is saying could possibly be true.

Quantic Dream founder Henry Cage recently commented on this, saying the studio is currently in talks with Sonyabout DLC for the game. In an interview withVideogamer:

“It’s a self-contained experience. We won’t release the end of the game as DLC that you need to pay for. The game has all the scenes it’s supposed to have. It’s a complete story … but we are talking with Sony at the moment about having maybe extra downloadable content, maybe with prequels or sequels about the characters. I’m sure people will get attached to some of them and will want to know them even better.”

Cage also mentioned that the game will have some online features, but not multiplayer, focusing on the fact that the game is still a single player experience. He also describes theHeavy Rainexperience as lasting 8-10 hours in total. Some people consider that to not be enough gameplay for the price — do you?
