Today issoslow that we bring you the stunning revelation thatthe websitefor the upcomingRayman Raving Rabbids 2is now live. At the site you can find pictures, your traditional Web 2.0-style intro and more of that bunny thing that seems to have completely passed me by. Maybe I’m alone here — and I’m beginning to think I am — but how is all of this so hilarious? I mean, they make strange noises, and they behave in ways that traditional rabbits aren’t normally known to, so in that way they pass the bare minimum standards for absurdity, but is it really all that funny?
Here’s a new pitch: Two rabbids leave for college. When they arrive, they realize they don’t fit in and are constantly harassed by the local “jocks,” the administration, and obviously the gorgeous women lead them on in horribly cruel ways. To fight back they assemble a fraternity consisting of like-minded socially inept rabbids, and by using their intelligence, technology and underdog spirit, they become the kings of the school after a series of hilarious situations that, while absurd, touch on common themes everyone can relate to. I intend to call itRevenge of the Rabbids.
