I know, I know. It’s probably not responsible of me to keeping hypingScribblenautsto hell and back. You could even say that I’m biased towards 5th Cell’s upcoming do-anything puzzler, but I can’t help it — Maxwell and his rooster helmet have won me over. He’s quite the charming little dude.

Edison Yan is an artist with 5th Cell who became internet famous after immortalizing the now-infamous “Post #217” with a painting of his own. Perhaps taking cues from intrepid NeoGAF users who took it upon themselvesto recreate some of their favorite characters inScibblenauts’signature style, Yan has some tributes of his own. TheStreet Fighterseries andFinal Fantasy VIIhave both gotten the treatment so far, and they are posted tohis blog.

Yan has miniaturized the entire roster fromStreet Fighters II, III, Alpha, andIV, with Blanka’s mechanical mouth and Zangief’s blocky beard being my favorite. Of course, he skipped the OGStreet Fighter, since no one actually played it, as well as theEXseries becauseeverybody hated it. On the other hand, my favorite from theFinal Fantasy VIIset has got to be Cait Sith — he’s a little rotundo.

Scibblenautswill be released on September 15th for the DS, giving me another two months to post as many cute things as I can about it.
