RememberCrush, that wild 2D/3D platformer/puzzle game for the PlayStation Portable? You’re cool, so you probably do. But there are a lot of folks who don’t, and Sega’s hoping to reach them with an update calledCRUSH3DSfor the Nintendo 3DS.

The pitch of the game is that you’re Danny, and you’re taking place in an experiment that will have you exploring your mind in both 2D and 3D space. The 3DS version of the game is getting a number of updates, including a fresh visual style that’s likely more approachable for a mass market audience. Sega saysCRUSH3Dwill feature fresh locations, characters, and even a hint system to help folks through the game’s sometimes complicated mind-minders.

CRUSH3Dwill also support StreetPass, which will allow players to leave gifts for friends and they can collect throughout the game.

It’s out September 6 in North America and September 9 in Europe and Australia.
