I’m incredibly excited forResident Evil: Revelations, and I’m… pretty excited aboutResident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D. I love Mercenaries mode inResident Evil 3,4, and5, but I’m not sure about this stand-aloneMercenariesgame. I hate to sound like a broken record, but my main concern is shooting controls. Theysound like they’ll work great inRevelations, but inMercenaries, it looks like they have you’ll switch to first person when you aim. I could be jumping to conclusions here, as I’m only going by these two short videos, but from the looks of them both, all the shooting is done in first person.
I like FPSs, but I generally enjoy 3rd person shooters a lot more. It bugs me to think that Cacpom may be changing the series to chase afteCall of Duty‘s success.Resident Evilis one of the last great 3rd person shooter series still going. I’d hate to see it change genres now, especially if it’s just to keep up with current trends.
