Some would say that I like a good deal. Others might say that I’m a cheap (or broke) bastard. But when it comes to great videogames, I’m willing to drop a few bones to satiate my cravings. But when I don’t have to, I get pretty giddy.
While I can’t say that Sony’s quirky PlayStation Portable titlePataponis “great” (I had afairly decent timepoking around a Japanese demo at least year’s Tokyo Game Show), the price certainly is. Sony’s Jeff Reesehas announcedthat whenPataponhits shelves on February 27, it’s only going to cost $19.99. In many parts of the country, that’s $347.73 cheaper than a tank of gas … and ifPataponis good enough, maybe you won’t want to leave your house anyhow.

Why so cheap? As Reese puts it, Sony “felt that the unique nature ofPataponfit nicely into this pricepoint, and would work to attrack the masses (casual, younger) who might otherwise miss it. So we’ll see if it works!” Well, I’m not casual (or young), but you’ve certainly caught my attention.
