It’s the game we’veallbeen waiting for! Sega has today announcedSonic & Sega All-Stars Racing, a “fast and furious battle to the finish line.” It’s coming to the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and DS, and it’s due out in early 2010.

All-Stars Racingseems to be the spiritual successor toSega Superstars Tennis, which was actually surprisingly good, despite its simplicity. Hopefully this racing game can be just as fun. It pulls on the exact same nostalgic heartstrings, with Sonic being joined by the likes of Amigo and AiAi fromSuper Monkey Ball. Would it be too much to have aStreets of Ragecharacter this time? Probably.

I’m actually going to give it a chance, based on the quality ofSuperstars Tennis. It’ll certainly be noMario Kart, but it may very well surprise us. We have a trailer after the jump, so be sure to check that out.
