SCEA is doing its own version ofThe Bachelor, exclusively for PSN. This afternoon, Sony announced “The Tester,” a reality show that will pit nerds against each other for a contract to a QA gig in the company’s department in San Diego, California. Sounds thrilling, right?
The company is holdingopen auditionsright now, but there’s a caveat: after filling out some paperwork, hopefuls are asked to submit a “short video” to the hardware and software publisher explaining “why they have what it takes to be a part of the PlayStation family.” (Probable pro-tip: it has nothing to do with the amount of ketchup or mustard stains on your graphic tee.)

Competitors will face off in a variety of videogame-related challenges, but what exactly they isn’t made clear. The official release mentions “mental prowess,” “dexterity,” and videogame knowledge as three things being tested, so we’re guessing, naturally, that the show will have regularMega Manendurance runs.
“The Tester” debuts this winter on PSN. The show will run eight episodes and viewers can either purchase the entire season or episodes individually. With money. Real money.
