Sony rounded out 2007 rough year with pretty solid PS3 sales. They moved 4.9 million units in the time between October and December. it’s not the Wii’s 7 million for the same time frame, but it is a solid comeback for the company.

Despite that, it seems that they have dialed back the forecast a bit for the year ending in March. According toReuters, Sony is moving the target back from 11 million to 9.5 million PS3 units. I’m sure this has something to do with the delay of the console’sbiggunsuntil the 2nd quarter of 2008.

On the other hand, a new price and remodel has made the PlayStation Portable quite popular, and Sony has decided to up their sales target to 13 million from 10 million units. I’m no analyst, but I’d say that this is a solid target; more and more people seem to be jumping on the PSP bandwagon these days.

Sony might have a pretty good 2008 lined up for them after they get over this Winter hump. What do you think? Are they set for a comeback in the 2nd quarter?
