An Ipsos study of United Kingdom and United States gamers has revealed that, across both the British and American market,Gears of War 3is the most anticipated game of the year. There were some considerable differences between the two markets, but Gears remained uniformly at the top spot.
Killzone 3was the second most anticipated game in the UK, but it ranked seventh in the US. American gamers instead haveMortal Kombatas their second most wanted. Some of the wilder disparities includeCrysis 2, ranked 14 in the UK but 46 in the US, andThe Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which is America’s fourth most wanted, but comes in at 25 in the UK.
It’s an interesting little chart that shows the potentially different mindset between two very similar sets of gamers. Whatever it is, it’s great news forGears of War 3, which should do incredibly well in both markets. No surprises there.
