RAGE, id Software’s upcoming mix of first-person shooting and racing isn’t expected to be out until the second quarter of 2010. That’s not stopping publisher EA from trying to get a little bit more interest generated for the title early on. Today, they unveiled ateaser siteto help familiarize players with the world they’ll be exploring next year.

On the site, you’ll be able to follow a lone survivor as he explores the game’s world. Right now, there’s just one image with a few things to interact with, including a wrecked plane, a skull which looks like it belonged to a mutated human and a radio tower. In addition, you may hear some of the thoughts of the survivor which mention the word “Apophis”, which also happens to be the Greek name for the Egyptian God of darkness and chaos. Spooky.

The site will be updating every two days, expanding the world and adding new things for people to interact with. How long this will go on is unknown, but an indicator at the bottom of the screen suggests that — from the perspective of the character, at least — five weeks are going to pass.
