Microsoft’s new dashboard update, dubbed the “New Xbox Experience,” will do more than just allow users to create Avatars. It will force them too. In a meeting with journalists at TGS, Microsoft product manager Aaron Greenberg made it very clear that there will be no exceptions to the Avatar rule by saying, “We’re forcing you to have a visual representation of yourself.”
While the majority of us won’t have a problem with that, how about those who don’t have a hard drive or memory card? According to a statement by Major Nelson toX3F, the New Xbox Experience will require 128 MB of space, but Microsoft is already aware that it’s memory segregated community will need something on which to store the update on November 19. The details are a bit sketchy, but Nelson is urging space-less 360 owners to watch Xbox.com because Microsoft will be “offering storage solutions to the Xbox LIVE community.”
I have a good idea. How about making hard drives standard already? It’s not like those willing to spend money to have a storage option don’t want games that load quicker or have more advanced functions.
