If there’s one thing you can count on in a games show, it’s the Internet suddenly being swamped with shaky, handheld camera footage of people failing at videogames. We had a lot of links to less-than-stellar quality gameplay videos coming in today, thanks to our news contributors Joe Burling and Blindside Dork, along with our regular (and much loved) tipster TheGoldenDonut. Since they’re really not grand enough to post as seperate pieces (and I really don’t need to make another six posts today), I decided to compile and post them in one huge, sticky wad for you to lap at your leisure.Included above is footage fromGuilty Gear 2, whichDick wrote aboutearlier in the week and is looking really exciting as far as I’m concerned, no matter what the purists say. Hit the jump for five more videos. With all the insanely good stuff coming from TGS this year, I think it’s safe to say we’re enterting one hell of a time for games.Ikaruga is coming to Xbox Live Arcade, and all I have to say is that those backgrounds look fantastic. If you’re reading this, chances are you already know whether or not you’re buying it, gameplay footage be damned. The thirst for shmups is almost vampiric with some people. Here’s someBeautiful Katamarifootage which shows pretty much what you’d expect — a big ball of stuff rolling around. I must confess that I don’t see how the game could stretch into a franchise, but until now we in Europe haven’t even seen one of these games. Hopefully the move to the Xbox 360 will mean we in Europe finally get a chance to play.Alliteration fans will be very interested inEvery Extend Extra Extreme, coming to XBLA. I hope the game is about extremely extending every extra you can find, because I’ve always wanted to do that.Naturally, I had to sneak in someDynasty Warriors 6gameplay. As I’ve said in the past, this game will be the biggest cultural event since Dio’sHoly Diver, and I stick by that.We close off withOperation: Darkness, a tactical game that I actually didn’t know much about. It looks … okay. Nothing that has excited me. I’m also not a big graphics whore, but come on. Xbox 360 graphics, they are not.
