I actually have a lot of respect for cosplayers. The dedication it takes to fashion an outfit based on your favorite videogame, comic book, orAmerican Idolcontestant is astounding. Truly, we’ve seen some amazing displays of skill and attention to detail. But sometimes, the complete lack of shame is well … a bit unnerving, to say the least.
Gameist’s recent feature, “The 9 Levels of Cosplay Hell,” breaks down the reasons why I try not to leave the house. What if I happen to run into someone — or something— dressed up like Yuna fromFinal Fantasy? And worse yet, what if I can’t forget what I’ve seen?
You’ve probably seen a lot of this stuff before; the “Tron Guy,” for instance, is a classic example of … OK, I don’t really know what the hell is going on there. But it’s nice to have some of this stuff in one place, if only to get it out of your system and move on.
OK, now that we’ve been subjected to this, somebody please — salvage my weekend and show me example of some amazing cosplay.
