It’s not much to go on, since THQ could move in a number of ways here. Perhaps it’s nothing more than the sequel getting the titleMetro 2033: Last Light, over the nameMetro 2034, which we had heard previously. Joystiq suggests the concept of another downloadable offshoot game, and that’d also make sense.
