The CESA has just announced the date for the 2010 Tokyo Game Show: September 16-19. While that’s usually nice fall weather here in America, early to mid September in Chiba is still usually muggy and hot. In recent years they’ve played around with the date a bit. I loved when it was in October. Bring deodorant. Check.

Not to be outdone with Germany’s Gamescom convention, TGS 2010 will now host the Asia Games Business Summit. Their goal is to go a bit more international with the event. Another change to the show is the introduction of the Audio Visual & Gadget Corner, which will be showcase for televisions and computers.

The most notable change is that game publishers will now be able to sell hardware and software from the show floor. The only requirement is that all items be sold at MSRP. Wow. This is going to be like the biggest and hottest game shopping mall ever. I wonder if press gets a jump on the goods on the first two press days.

As usual, Destructoid will be there to pass off photography of booth girls as game news coverage. If I have any pull at all in this company, I’m going to use it to ensure that Hamza goes to Japan this year. Wouldn’t that make for some interesting photo and video?
