So apparently, music games are popular. I didn’t notice, but maybe Ubisoft did.

The developer’s San Francisco-based offices are seeking a lead designer to “help guide the creation of an exciting new cross-platform music based game.” The job listing, found onGamasutra, is very specific about seeking a “highly talented, motivated and experienced person.” So the folks who worked on the Hannah Montana plug-n-play guitar game need not apply.

When they say “cross-platform,” they’re not kidding — the listing specifically mentions PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii among the platforms.

Considering Ubisoft’s long history with the “Imagine” series of games, it’s not unlikely that we’ll eventually seeBabyz versus Poniez: Pop Superstar Edition. But with PS3 and Xbox 360 on the development docket, maybe Ubisoft has something a bit more interesting in mind.
