Sick of idiotic teenagers trollingCall of Duty? Well, you’re boned, because Treyarch has no interest in keeping the kids away from its games.
“I think it should be handled by the ratings board. I don’t know a tremendous amount about UK ratings boards, but I do know that you have to be of that age to purchase the content, and if parents want to let their kids play it’s completely at their discretion,” said community manager Josh Olin. “I get where you’re coming from, it’s that maybe the kids are more obnoxious to deal with – but hey, they want to have their fun too, so I don’t want to kill that for them.”

While it would be easy to rage at Olin for these comments, I find them refreshingly honest. It’s not often a developer would admit that kids play a distinctly non-kiddy game, and go so far as to state that it’s not the studio’s problem — which it isn’t, really.
Of course, this doesn’t help the people who have to put up with morons on Xbox Live, but I admire a studio that doesn’t pretend to give a crap when it distinctly doesn’t. It’s better than paying insincere lip service, at any rate.
