People have been expecting to hear Wakefor a long time, but it’s beensolong now that many are likely expecting to hear only that it’s been canned. For those of us still interested in this “psychological action thriller,” it should be noted that the game isn’t dead yet, with developer RemedystatingthatAlan Wakeis still very much in the works.

Sure, we’ve been in development for a long time and if everything had gone perfectly smoothly there probably would be a game out for you guys to play already. But designing a completely new game can be hard, and sometimes you need to take a detour to find the best route forward.
I wonder if “a detour” suggests that the next time we seeAlan Wake, it’ll be a very different beast from what we saw last. Was theMax Paynedeveloper being a bit too ambitious when it first started making the game? In my experience, that’s usually what happens when a title spends time in limbo followed by a developer making subtle hints about development changes.
We shall see.Alan Wakestill has a buzz surrounding it, but we’ll need to see some solid stuff soon if people are going to keep caring.
