As if the idea of anotherMortal Kombatgame didn’t seem odd enough at this point, it appears that two companies are currently vying for the production of a third flick based on the property. The Wrapis reporting that Threshold Entertainment has slapped Warner Bros., the current owner of theMKfranchise, with a breach-of-contract lawsuit. Threshold believes it should be the one developing the movie after purchasing rights from Midway in 2006, but Warner Bros. hasn’t held up that end of the bargain since acquiring the IP, and has reportedly, hired their own people to do the movie.

We haven’t the slightest idea what the hell isactuallygoing on, mainly because it’s hard to imagine that someone wants to do anotherMKflick. Ina recent tweet, series creator Ed Boon said “Must. Bite. Tongue. Harder … ” So, perhaps we should as well until this all spills out in the open. Like guts after Kabal gets done wrecking a dude.
