Some were hoping to hear a launch date for upcoming MMOStar Wars: The Old Republicduring EA’s earnings conference call today. But no. EA did give a couple of reasons for this.

The first is that they don’t want the competition to have a heads up. That makes sense, especially considering the size of their primary competitor. But more importantly, they want to continue charging ahead with the beta test, giving them more time to polish the game. They’ll continue to do so until it launches later this year. We hear that Europe is about to get in on that action, actually.

Need a launch date? Well, they did give a time frame forNeed for Speed: The Run. It’s coming this holiday, November 15th, for just about all platforms.  We’ll get a better look at it,Mass Effect 3andBattlefield 3at E3 next month. EA should have a pretty good year this year.
