I wouldn’t go so far as to say thatWolfenstein 3Dcoming to Xbox LIVE Arcade is the worst-kept secret ever, but it’scertainly up there. Activision has finally gone on the record to say that not only does it exist, but that the game is also planned for a PlayStation Network release.
No word on pricing yet (don’t go over $10, guys!), butWolfenstein 3Dis hitting on June 3 and 4 for XBLA and PSN, respectively. Originally, I had thought these latest ports were just going to be an easy way to hype up Raven’s upcomingWolfenstein.
While that’s sort of true, actual work is being put into the marketing effort. Interestingly enough, players who buy and play the classic game can “earn accolades and be awarded gold for customizable weapon upgrades in id Software’s all newWolfenstein.” Who doesn’t like gold?
