Sega’sYakuzais a bit of a sleeper. The 2006 story-driven brawler recieved praise from the press and many gamers, but others tell me that they’ve never picked it up. If you haven’t yet, and you don’t hate brawlers, do so. It will make you feel like a Japanese gangster. And the unintentionally funny factor is quite high.
Sega has released a new trailer to promoteYakuza 2, which will be released on September 9th. They went for a kind of film noir thing that does not really work for this sandbox-y, RPG-ish Japanese mafia title. I mean, come on: the shot with the “damsel in distress” is a girl in a bathrobe, drinking a beer.
Goofy trailer or not, I’m still looking forward to the release ofYakuza 2. I can’t believe we’realready talkingabout a third game in the serires when so many haven’t played the original title.
